Why Make Your Own Perfume?

  • Chemical-Free – No artificial fragrances or preservatives.

  • Customizable – Blend scents that suit your mood and style.

  • Cost-Effective – High-quality essential oils last a long time.

  • Eco-Friendly – No wasteful packaging or synthetic ingredients.

Understanding Scent Notes

To create a well-balanced fragrance, it's helpful to understand the three scent layers:

  • Top Notes – The first impression (citrus, mint, light florals like lavender)

  • Middle Notes – The heart of the scent (spices, herbs, heavier florals like rose or jasmine)

  • Base Notes – The lasting foundation (woods, resins, vanilla, musk)

A good rule of thumb is to mix:

  • 30% top notes

  • 50% middle notes

  • 20% base notes

DIY Perfume Oil Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 10 ml carrier oil (jojoba, almond, or fractionated coconut oil)

  • 20–30 drops essential oils (choose a mix of top, middle, and base notes)

  • A small glass roller bottle

Directions:
  1. Add carrier oil to your roller bottle.

  2. Drop in your chosen essential oils.

  3. Close the bottle and shake gently to mix.

  4. Let the blend sit for 24–48 hours to allow the scents to meld.

  5. Apply to pulse points (wrists, neck, behind ears) and enjoy!

DIY Solid Perfume Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 1 tbsp beeswax

  • 1 tbsp carrier oil (jojoba, almond, or coconut oil)

  • 15–20 drops essential oils

  • Small tin or lip balm container

Directions:
  1. Melt the beeswax and carrier oil together using a double boiler.

  2. Remove from heat and stir in essential oils.

  3. Quickly pour into a small container before it solidifies.

  4. Let it cool and harden before use.

  5. Apply by rubbing a small amount onto your pulse points.
